INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup Hot Chocolate Porter 
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 loaf Italian bread

STEPS

  1. In a bowl, add milk, beer, sugar, eggs and vanilla, whisk until well combined. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, melt the butter.
  2. Dip the bread, one piece at a time, into the milk mixture until well coated but not soaked through. Immediately add to pan and cook until lightly browned on one side, flip and brown on the opposite side (about 2 to 3 minutes per side). Repeat for all slices, adding butter to the pan as needed.
  3. Finish with your choice of toppings! Get creative with syrups, fruit compotes, and custards; or go savory with roasted asparagus and hollandaise! The possibilities are endless!
